Design notes
How this property was lit.
Two-storey homes present a specific problem: the eye stops at the second-floor windows and the roofline above is lost in the dark. Lighting the gable and the dormer plane pulls the composition upward.
Both wreaths were lit and hung as part of the same install, so the entry and the gable above it read as one composition rather than two separate decorations.
Photographed at blue hour, which is when a warm-white display looks its best — the sky still holds colour and the lights have something to work against.
