Why wrapping beats draping

Draping a strand over a branch is fast, cheap and looks it. The strand sags, the spacing is wrong, and after the first windy night it has slid into a knot. Wrapping means the strand is wound around the trunk and primary branches at even tension, cut to the length of that specific limb. It holds through wind and rain, it looks deliberate from every angle, and it can be taken off and stored intact.

What you wrap is what you see

At night a tree canopy is mostly silhouette — the fine branches disappear against a dark sky. What reads is the trunk and the primary branches, which is why we concentrate the light there. The result is a tree that appears to hold light from the inside, and a display that gains two or three metres of vertical presence without adding a single fixture to the house.

Protecting the tree while you light it

Mature Texas oaks are the most valuable landscaping on most properties, and they are easy to damage with the wrong equipment. We plan access to keep weight off the root zone, avoid compacting lawns and hardscape, and never attach to bark in a way that can girdle a trunk. The tree looks better afterwards, not worse.
