How this property was lit.
Some houses need the full treatment. This one needed the opposite. The architecture is doing the work already — tall gables, board-and-batten siding, a wide paver drive — so the lighting was kept to the roofline and the entry.
That decision is as much design as it is budget. Adding trees and beds here would have competed with the gables and made the house look smaller.
The dark trim and window surrounds were left unlit on purpose. A lit roofline against a dark façade gives the house its edge.
