Why custom cut matters more than people expect
A box-store strand is made to a length, not to a house. When it reaches the end of a run, the leftover coil gets looped over a gutter or tucked behind a downlight, and the line sags where it should be straight. On a house with a single long fascia you might not notice. On a house with nine gables, three dormers and a detached garage, it is the first thing anybody sees.
- Rooflines are measured before anything is ordered
- Strands are cut to length for each plane of the roof
- Bulb spacing is set so the line reads as one continuous run
- Wire runs are managed, not hidden and not left hanging
- Connections are planned so there are no dark gaps
